Daraus entsteht
mein Bild-Titel in Sekunden.

Thoughts on my open series time-pieces, (open series)

In my time pieces on paper and canvas I want to visualize experienced time as well as the process of time going by. For that I use merely ink and a brush.
While the metronome is set to tick each second I am making a line on the image carrier: second for second for second. At the point when the liquid in the brush diminishes I interrupt the application of the ink. Then I reload the brush with ink.
In my most recent time-pieces I mark the gap. As a result there are empty spots in the flow of the lines. The application of the ink on the painting (or drawing) varies in the course of the time it takes to make it. These hand executed processes are moving through the entire series of the “time-pieces”. I take notes in a book about the duration of each working step and list the minutes. I add the total number of minutes I work on each piece.
This results in the title for my painting or drawing.
The fundamental question for me is how to go beyond measurable time.
